Hello and Thank you for taking time to look around my website.
I love my job as I’m a true artist and romantic! There is something so magical about documenting a day centered around two people in love. There is endless fun & beauty that can be found at a wedding, from the gasps the first time the bridesmaids see the bride in her stunning dress to tears when the groom sees his beautiful girl walk down the aisle. I love a good boogie as well. I’m all about capturing emotions, moments, atmospheres and the little details of a wedding day that can so easily be forgotten.
The way I take pictures
My relaxed & calm nature means that I’m very unobtrusive in how I go about my wedding photography. I often get feedback from my brides and grooms that my approach put their guests at ease and this is a strong value that I adhere to. Therefore majority of my images are ‘candid’, capturing the natural actions, reactions and interactions of the bride and groom and their guests as the wedding day unfolds. I work as discreetly as possible, allowing people to relax into the day without feeling self-conscious.
As a documentary photographer, I try to tell the story of your wedding day without disrupting its flow, using natural light wherever possible. I put a strong emphasis on the style of my images, I believe in creative framing & clever photography first & foremost; at the moment I’m editing my pictures in a dreamy film like manner.
If you like what you see, I would really like it if we could arrange a skype / phone / face-time or personal meeting to talk more about your wedding details.
Things I adore:
My wife! (she is amazing), Jesus, social justice, nature and the environment, Radiohead & music in general, football & Manchester united, dogs (especially our English setter, Rosemary), polaroid & old photographs, art, history, cider. I spend too much time on YouTube and I collect cameras (35 at current count)
How do we book you for our wedding photography?
Once we have spoken or corresponded and you feel you would like to book me, all you have to do is fill in a booking form which I will give to you in a wedding pack and send me a deposit of £100 to secure your date.
How far will you travel and is there a charge?
I’m a UK travel photographer based in Cambridgeshire covering, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire, London, Norfolk & Suffolk. There’s no additional travel charges for these locations.
If you live outside of these county’s or want to hire me internationally, ask me for a quote. Please note I regularly shoot all over the country and in a year it’s common for me to take pictures in the peak district one week and the next in Bristol.
How long have you being doing wedding photography?
2015 will be my tenth year of weddings!
Do you photograph group shots? & How much time should I allocate for this?
I understand that most couples don’t want to spend a lot of time on formal / group shots. My ethos is to do them well, but make sure they are done as quickly and efficiently as they can be done.
As a rule of thumb, I allow 3 mins per group formal. 6 – 8 formals is a balanced amount of shots – but some people want more, and some want fewer. I always greatly appreciate being given a list of required formal’s before the wedding day and often I get the help of the bridal party to help me gather guests.
How long do you stay at our wedding
If you have booked me for the all day coverage package. My normal operational hours are 9 – 12 hours. It all depends on what there is to take pictures of, I tend not to leave till I feel like I have got all the shots there is to take.
Do we need to feed you?
Food is appreciated, as you can understand I will be with you for a long time. I don’t need to sit down at a table and it’s most ideal for me to eat when your guests are eating. Other than that, I’m a vegetarian.
Are you insured?
Yes. I am fully insured with professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
Do you carry back up gear?
I have back up cameras and when taking pictures my camera automatically creates a backup of your images.
How long will it take for us to see our images after the wedding?
This all depends how busy I am at the time of your wedding but I normally advise one week to three weeks.
